How can I get my hair flat, straight, and shiny?

My hair is just too poofy for my liking. I take showers at night, and I can't take them in the morning because my mom won't let me go to school with wet hair. I can't blow dry it because my hair is so thick that it takes an hour and a half to dry. All I can do is straighten and put products in my hair. Any ideas? Thanks!

ok first you need to make sure you have enough moisture in your hair. Here's what I recomend, use Warmed Olive oil, coconut, or avacado oil, completely coat your hair, put it up in a loose bun..... HAIR MUST BE DRY TO APPLY!....... cover with a shower cap. then use a towel warmed in the dryer and wrap it up turban style. leave on up to 1 hour.

to wash out..... first rinse with warm(hot) water as hot as you can stand, then use a tiny bit of shampoo (moisturizing) on your roots only. follow with a good conditioner, through all your hair...... it will not be greasy, I promise.

then let your hair dry, in the morning.... LIGHTLY spritz it with water... preferably with your head tipped upsid down....

then.... (you can do this with really wet hair, or spritzed and damp)...............Pin up the top section of your hair and use the round brush to blowdry your hair. Hold the hair sections out taut and point the hairdryer down to dry it. Do this section by section, so that your hair is completely dry. You may want to then dry up the hair, from the neck to the end of the strands. This makes it easier to get the hair on the back of the head.

If you have decided to use a hair straightener, put your hair into sections again, and run over your hair with the straightener. Grip one section of hair. Clamp the flat iron onto the top portion of the section. Slowly, move the iron down your hair. Repeat up to three times.

Brush hair, and finish off with a small amount of serum.

Tips

Before you get out of the shower, rinse your hair with cold water. This will make your hair extra shiny!

When blowdrying your hair, make sure the hairdryer is pointing down, so that all the hair folicles point down, which equals super shiny hair, which is the look we're going for! Also, before blow-drying, consider applying a heat protection spray.

Don't use too much hair serum or hair products, because you don't want your hair to look lank and greasy.

Some good products to try: Chi Silk Infusion or Redken Smooth Down, Nexxus Heat Protexx.

If your hair is fragile, use a low setting on the iron. If it's thick and unruly, make the heat almost the hottest it can be.

Warnings

Don't brush your hair when it's wet, because it stretches and breaks the hair. Always use a wide-toothed comb.

If you're in a rush and need to dry your hair, don't take the easy way out and use your hair straightner when it's wet. See that steam coming out? It dries out your hair. Always use a hairdryer prior to straightening.

ALWAYS use heat protection spray or else your hair will get damaged from straightener.

If you straighten your hair at night and sleep with a bandana on, all you'll have to do in the morning is touch it up. BTW the straightner works with wet hair too.
