get it wet and wash it with baking soda, it will absorb most of the vaseline, depending on how much she put in, it might take 3-5 times of this process, then shampoo and condition her hair, my son thought vaseline was hair wax that he could use to spike his hair

Use dish soap, preferably Dawn soap to wash her hair and get the vaseline out, then wash her hair with normal shampoo so it doesn't dry out her scalp. Good luck!

LMAO! My friend's 3 yr old just did this to herself and her 15 month old sister last weekend.

What seems to have worked...although it takes A LOT of washings, and the longer the hair, the longer it takes...

Coat the hair in cornstarch...let it sit for a while, then wash thoroughly with Neutrogena Anti-Residue shampoo (might as well buy their big bottle)...repeat over and over.

It came out of the 15 month old's shorter hair in a day or so...it was almost out of the 3 yr old's hair on Thursday...haven't seen them since then...it does work, you just have to repeat that process over and over again.

I would try a deep cleansing shampoo that will help strip it out. After a lot of washings it is bound to come out. Good Luck to you, I guess it is better than getting bubble gum out!

Use dawn dish liquid. Just make sure it doesn't get in her eyes! If it can remove crude oil from wildlife, I'm sure it will work on vaseline.

I just got out of the shower and can report that BABY OIL and then Dawn dishwashing liquid works. How do I know this? I often put a generic brand of Icy Hot cream on my scalp when I have bad headaches---unfortunatley I accidently bought BALM this time which contains white petroleum and parrafin (yes, vaseline and WAX). I washed my hair 3 times yesterday with Dawn and had no success. Then I found someone here on Yahoo Answers that suggested that BABY OIL worked for him when nothing else did; and darn if it didn't work! I coated my head with it, combed it through a bunch of times, then shampooed with Dawn a couple of times (also combing it through) and then finally just regular shampoo. It seems to have worked great! (and I can STILL feel the icy hot on my neck where I didn't use baby oil.) Good Luck!
