Layers for my wavy hair..?

hi, i want to get layers, but not sure if my mum will let me. i'm 13. I'm one of the only people in my class who doesnt have them..and i want to get them..i have quite thick wavy to straight hair! any ideas! length? and do i have to go to a stylist for them? thanks!

og come on... jus becuz evry 1 else has them doesnt mean u have to to. be a leadre not a folower.. what i truly think u should do is to get super curly curls and a haircut.... not onlii will u b seting yer own trends but youll attract more attention.

You should go to a stylist to get layers unless you have some experience cutting your own hair. I think you are old enough to get layers. My hair is curly and I have them, love them.

If you want a professional cut then go to someone that knows what they're doing. Don't go to joe blow for a cut. And why would your mom not let u? It's your hair, and it will grow back. Not like you're getting a mohawk or tattoo or something.

It would probably be best to get it done at a stylist.

My hair is wavy and I have it layered. The longest layer is below the middle of my back. The shortest layer is just below my shoulders. They can layer you hair any length you want. If you don't want it thick at the bottom be sure to tell the stylist when you get it cut. My hair is so thick and the last time I had mine cut the woman cut it so that it would be thicker at the bottom. She was new and didn't know what I liked. I sure wish that I'd told her.

Hey i have wavy hair. I got layers in college and it was terrible. I had to paste my hair with mousse and gel so that it didn't have fly aways. I waited till it grew a little and then cut it to one level. only way you can work with layers is for straight hair (unfortunately) if you can blow dry straight everyday it can work. But if not it will get puffy and have lots or flyaways.

Yes, go to a hair stylist for them. As far as length, I have long wavy hair. My shortest layer is at my shoulder and they look really pretty when my hair is down. So, you definitely could get them and they would look good! It will take some of the weight off your head, too, if you struggle with headaches. I did, and just getting layers was enuf off to help reduce the weight of my hair. Good luck and hope your mum lets you get them!:-)

i have wavy hair just like yours and i tried that whole layered look and it didnt work out. trust me. in the front of my head a the hair line of the middle part, it started poofing out like a water fountain. the layers u could barley see! the wavyness just covers that up! and wen u ponytail ur hair not all of it stays up unless u get long layers. but no point of a haircut if u just get it styled!

I have the same hair type as you, if you want your hair thinned out then layers worked for me, tell your hair dresser that you want the layers to make your hair thinner, because alot of volume comes back once you've washed your hair, i think they look really good. If you are unsure about what your parents will say, don't get lots of layers and show them a picture of what you want done.
